You can vote for up to 16 validators who will go through an election process at the end of every era. The election process runs to decide who will be validating the next era's blocks. In the following era, you will be able to view the status (active/inactive/waiting) of the nominators you voted for.

​Active: Validator(s) was elected in the active validator set, where you are nominating and receiving rewards for the current era.
​
​Inactive: Validator(s) was elected in the active validator set, however you are not nominating there for the current era.
​
​Waiting: Validator(s) were not selected in the active validator set.
​
